Oblvians – Sympathy Sessions
This release consists of two prior ten inch ep’s put out by ‘Sympathy for the record industry’, hence the title. This was a Christmas present from my honey years ago. Best song is “Feel Real Good”. Pure Rock and Roll.
They formed around 1993 and the trio often alternated vocal, guitar and drum duties on both studio recordings and playing live.

Released in 1990 the concept was for current label artists to cover songs by historical artists on the label. The two disc set has some amazing stuff. My personal favorite is The Havalins’s doing “Bottle of Wine” originally done by Tom Pacton, which I have never heard of Tom or the song but it is a great song. Feel good song. Other standouts are Metallica covering Queen with Stone Cold Crazy, Billy Bragg doing “7&7” by Love, the Pixies doing “Born in Chicago by Paul Butterfield Blues Band. Ok most of the tracks on this release are good and are cool in their own ways. I recommend this cd for any ‘cool music’ collector.

I have a lot of appraisals to do today. Normally I would look forward to getting out and getting it done and I do still but in the back of my mind I am a little worried about my stamina. me and the dogs hanging out listening to Michael des barres morning show. Cold outside. Johnny not feeling too good. He had bad night. Seems better this am but a little Pukey. I feel good. Bad night for me too after drinking two shots of fireball. Instantly killed my lower back and stomach. Went to bed early to let girls have fun and party. Got up before midnight to give my honey a kiss. She was grumpy.
